Casino Filming/Fundraiser!

Be in our next film CULT CARTEL, sequel to CATHEDRAL CANYON which received the "Audience Choice for Best Feature Film" Award at Palm Beach Int Film Festival.

Appetizers, Drinks, Dessert, Entertainment, Games and Prizes!

We're aiding over 50 young people escaping Child Slavery, Child Marriage and Child Labor in the U.S.

A rather unusual Casino film/fundraiser event occurred March 25. . Fifty glamorous and giving Palm Beachers joined Hollywood actors to not only help a good cause, but also appear in a MMAD movie.

MoviesMakingADifference 501c3 makes socially conscious feature films and then gives back to the survivors upon whom the films shed light ~ victims of Child Slavery, Child Marriage and Child

Brides in the U.S.

What makes this project even more unique is that the remainder of this film, starring Jud Tyler (Charlie Wilson's War, That 70's Show), Don Most (Happy Days) Winsor Harmon (The Bold & The Beautiful) and Young Barlow (“Lost Boy” and guest of honor at Mardi Gras event in Palm Beach) will be shot inside the infamous town of Colorado City, AZ. And it will actually employ many who have managed to escape, been banished and/or victimized by the church/cartel of imprisoned Warren Jeffs..

But here in Florida at the National Croquet Center, Lavinia Baker, Simone A. Desiderio and Barbara Heilman all won speaking parts in MoviesMakingADifference's new film, CULT CARTEL. Former Floridian, Hollywood actor/director/producer Britt George, along with rapper/actor Deuce-L, actress/philanthropist Julia Lima Rosengren and actress Maria-Magdalena Roman all flew in to work alongside our locals to aid in the cause.

Long time supporters Conrad N. Hilton III, Cristiana Shields,  Lauri Welteroth, Asif Haque, Trina Lane, Rose Carpenter, Pamela O'Connor, Matthew Stevens, Arvo Katajisto and Chip Williams were not only in attendance that evening, but captured on film as well.

As the camera rolled, they listened to Founder/Producer, Diana Davis, remind them why they were all there. The very same day Diana had gotten news that her pleas to the prosecution had been granted for a 20 yr old trafficked girl who had been enslaved since the age of 11 and rescued by MMAD was to be remanded into a treatment facility in lieu of 13 years in prison. Yes, a fundraiser as a scene of a fundraiser in a feature film.

A few days earlier local actors and valued friends of MMAD Julia Harris, Debbie Daley, Joe Budd Maniscalco and David Ferreira were cast in their own scenes depicting how widespread the criminals of the FLDS are. On yet another day, scenes were filmed in the historic neighborhood of El Cid at the Mediterranean style home of Z and Sylvia Mesaric doubling for a Spa in Mexico. Local actor/designer David Negri donated his talent both in production design and joining the Hollywood actors in scenes Real life stunners Cristiana Shields, Robin Azqueta, Mara Zia, Debra Tomarin, Daniela Douglas and Cynthia Tsonas all won raffles at previous fundraisers to be on-screen bathing beauties. The piano talents of young Christopher King were also captured on film for the movie.

All scenes were filmed using local Directors of Photography filmmaker Richard Jackson, Joseph Aliberto from G-Star School of the Arts and supervised by G-Star teacher Production Manager Larry DiCarmine along with a tremendous crew volunteering from Dryfoos and Spanish River schools for community service hours.

In support of this incredible endeavor, Perfect Vodka was once again on hand to supply beverages and 'product placement' in the production and with Bruce Sutka jumping in, Sandy James Catering lent their support by providing craft services for an evening of Las Vegas style fun with Romano Guttadauro's Casino Party Nights turning The National Croquet Center into an authentic movie set.

This was really a community affair. Qibrije Berisha “Bea” from Cosmos & Company Salon and Spa donated her Make-Up artistry talents and Heartfelt Full Service Catering by Maria and Staff found themselves part of the production while donating Craft Services. Shay Considine of OUTBACK Steakhouse in Lake Worth donated food for one hundred for the second time this year in support of the nonprofit.

We have all come together to help these brave souls tell their shocking story. And supporting the film's writer/director Paul Davis, the crew in Colorado City will be none other than the students who professionally shot the Florida scenes. The film will explore the continued and even increased levels of a crime organization that masquerades as a Church whilst brutalizing its' followers on the AZ/UT border, in pockets around the country and even into Mexico and Canada. Child labor, pedophilia, prostitution, starvation, racketeering, human and drug trafficking and political corruption all figure prominently in this story that far too seldom makes headlines. MoviesMakingADifference (a 501c3) is determined to change that
